VOZOL Not Working? Common Mistakes and Quick Fixes

The VOZOL range we sell (Gear 10000, Neon 10000, Star 12000, Star 20000, Vista 20000, Gear Power 20000, Gear Shisha 25000, Star 40000 and Rave 40000) is all sealed, pre-filled and USB-C rechargeable. There are no pods to fill, no coils to change and no firmware to update. When one stops working, the fix is almost always on the outside of the device, or the device is faulty and should be replaced.

How to turn on and use a VOZOL vape

There is no on/off button. VOZOL disposables are draw-activated: remove the packaging and plugs, then inhale gently from the mouthpiece and it fires.

1. Take off the shrink wrap and any sticker or film.
2. Pull out the silicone plug(s) on the mouthpiece and, on some models, the base. A plug left in is the most common reason a brand-new VOZOL “doesn’t work”.
3. If the battery reads low, charge it first with the USB-C cable.
4. Take a slow, steady draw of a few seconds. Hard, sharp pulls flood the airflow and cause spitting.
5. On models with a mode switch or airflow dial, set them before you start (see below).

“How do I open my VOZOL 10000?” You don’t open the device itself. “Opening” simply means removing the packaging and plugs. The body is sealed, and prising it apart risks a damaged battery, leaks and burns.

What does the VOZOL Surge or Boost button do?

It switches the device to a higher-power mode that gives more vapour and a stronger hit, but uses e-liquid and battery faster, so you get fewer puffs.

• VOZOL Star 40000: Regular mode (up to 40,000 puffs) and Surge mode (around 25,000 puffs). You pick the mode with the switch on the body.
• VOZOL Rave 40000: the same Regular (up to 40,000) and Surge (around 25,000) split.
• VOZOL Gear Power 20000: Eco mode (up to 20,000 puffs) and Power mode (around 12,000).
• VOZOL Gear Shisha 25000: Eco mode (up to 25,000 puffs) and Power mode (around 18,000).
• VOZOL Vista 20000: no Surge mode, but it has adjustable wattage instead.

The puff counts above are the maximums listed for each model. Leaving Surge or Power on all day is the main reason people say their device “ran out early” or tastes burnt before the screen says it’s empty. Use it for the occasional stronger session, not all the time. The position of the switch varies by model, so check the leaflet in the box.

VOZOL not charging

It’s usually the cable, the plug or lint in the USB-C port, not the device. Try a different known-good USB-C cable and a standard phone charger before deciding it’s faulty.

• Look into the port with a torch. Remove lint with a gentle puff of air, never a pin or anything metal.
• Use a standard 5V phone adapter. Skip high-wattage fast chargers, cheap car chargers and frayed or bent cables.
• Push the cable fully in. The light or screen should show it’s charging within a few seconds.
• If the device is hot from use or from sitting in the sun, let it cool to room temperature first.

As a guide, the store listings give around 30 minutes for a full charge on the Star 40000 and Star 20000, around 45 minutes on the Star 12000 and about an hour on the Gear Power 20000. Stop and contact us if it gets hot while charging, the port is damaged or the body looks swollen.

VOZOL blinking

Blinking usually means the battery is low, or the safety cut-off has stopped a puff that went on too long. Charge it and take shorter draws.

Light patterns differ between models, so check your leaflet for the exact meaning. If it still blinks after a full charge and a short rest, and the airflow is clear, the device is likely faulty. On screen models (Star 40000, Rave 40000, Gear Power, Gear Shisha, Vista, Star 20000), read the battery and e-liquid levels first. On the Star 12000, a shake wakes the display.

VOZOL not hitting or no vapour

If the light comes on but there’s no vapour, the airflow is blocked or the e-liquid has run out. If nothing happens at all, the battery is flat.

• Check every silicone plug and sticker has been removed.
• Clear the mouthpiece and air holes of lint and sand, and make sure your fingers aren’t covering the air intake.
• On models with an airflow dial (Gear series, Star 40000, Rave 40000), open it a little more.
• Charge it, then try a gentle draw.
• If the screen shows full battery but empty e-liquid, the device is finished. A sealed VOZOL ends when the liquid runs out, even if the battery still has charge.

VOZOL burnt taste

A burnt taste means the wick is running dry, either because the e-liquid is nearly gone or because you’ve taken long puffs back to back, often in Surge or Power mode.

Put it down for a few minutes, switch to Regular/Eco mode and take shorter puffs. If the burnt taste comes back straight away or the e-liquid reading is near zero, the device has reached the end of its life. You can’t fix this by “priming” or changing the coil, because the coil is sealed inside.

How to unlock a VOZOL (child lock)

The VOZOL models listed above are draw-activated with no power button, and their product information doesn’t describe a child-lock function. If yours seems “locked”, it is almost always a plug left in, a flat battery or the safety cut-off.

Be wary of button-press sequences you find online. They usually refer to other brands or to refillable pod kits. Remove all seals, charge the device and take a gentle draw. If it still won’t fire, treat it as faulty (see our returns policy below) rather than trying to force it.

Common mistakes VOZOL users make

• Running Surge or Power mode all day. You get noticeably fewer puffs, more heat and an earlier burnt taste.
• Leaving it in a hot car. UAE summer heat inside a parked car can damage the battery and push e-liquid out as leaks. Keep it with you, out of direct sun.
• Using high-wattage fast chargers or damaged cables. Use the supplied cable or a good USB-C cable with a standard phone adapter.
• Chain-vaping. Long puffs one after another dry the wick and overheat the device. Pause between puffs.
• Leaving the silicone plug in. The device lights up but won’t produce vapour.
• Trying to open, refill or “fix” a sealed device. It can’t be refilled, and opening it risks a damaged battery, leaks and burns.
• Carrying it loose with keys or coins. This scratches the port and can block the air holes.

VOZOL troubleshooting table

Stop using it straight away if the device fires on its own, gets very hot, swells, smokes, or is cracked or crushed. Don’t try to repair it.

Can I refill a VOZOL disposable?

No. They are sealed and pre-filled. When the e-liquid runs out, the device is finished, even if the battery still has charge.

Can I change the coil?

No. The coil is built in and can’t be removed. A lasting burnt taste means the device is empty or worn out.

How do I know my VOZOL is empty?

The flavour fades, vapour drops and a burnt taste appears even after a rest. On screen models, the e-liquid reading reaches zero.

Is it safe to use while charging?

It’s best not to. Let it charge, unplug it, then use it. Stop and contact us if it gets hot while charging.
